Not a big deal. Put any fresh clean new detergent oil and a new filter on the engine. It will cleanup just the same.
Snake Oil is not allowed on my place.

Totally agree with you on Snake Oil so we just stick with Sea Foam oil for cleaning dirty fuel systems, etc.

Not sure why but not all new detergent oil will clean like it those photos it seems per Mobil 1. Read about their warning when moving to Mobil 1 High Mileage motor oil after long term high detergent usage.

I borrowed some high detergent diesel oil from work. Put it in a chevy 5.7 (350) and proceeded to drive it a hour each way to work and back. Day number 2 going home suddenly no oil pressure. Pulled over with truck still running. checked everything-got on back roads and slowly drove home. Had busted crud loose and messed up pressure sending unit. Lesson learned.

Good point about how well diesel oil will clean. While we had to swap out oil pans putting an engine from a 4WD into a S-10 2WD pick up (so we know the pan was clean of crud) we went with NAPA 15w-40 diesel oil and so far so clean so maybe the engine was not too dirty.
