I'm new at tractor ownership. I bought a used finish mower and am not sure how long to make the top link. It has the swinging attachment loop. Do I adjust the top link so that the swinging loop is tight (horizontal) or vertical, or somewhere in between?

About halfway between. I adjust my top link so the swinging attachment loop is about 45 degrees downsloped with the mower on the ground. Top link too tight equals mower raising off the ground when mowing ditches and slopes. Top link too loose equals the mower the mower not raising high enough or the mower raising not level. It takes a couple of tries to get it right.

Thanks a lot! Rob.
