I'm in the process of attempting a restore on a "48" Allis B? I read somewhere 140 weight above 32f but that seems pretty stiff to run a hydraulic ram. I'm really new to tractor maintenance and any advise would be appreciated.

I'm gonna guess the worst modern hydraulic or UTF (universal transmission fluid) you can find on the market today is better than the best they had 50-70 years ago...

the manual states above 90f use sae 30 oil. below 32f use sae 20 oil. below 10f use sae 10 oil. drain and replace oil ever 60 hrs. have fun

Personally, I'd use a good quality of trans/hydraulic fluid... It works in all temps..

I posted motor oil requirement yesterday, sorry getting old. from the manual: transmission capacity 6 qts. with pto installed 7 qts. use sae 20 wt.
at all times, change twice a year.
