4*Even used ones with shipping added on were ridiculous.
5*Commercial laundries, coin op car washes and oodles of other users of drums are sources of good drums for cheap.
6*To get my $6 price I bought from a guy who collects them from the above named sources (plus others) and resells them.
7* Even with his profit added on I think I was happy to buy 20 of them at $6 each.

1*Wish I could but it just don't pan out like that around here.
2*I'd like to have some to split in half top to bottom and use the halves to line a couple of ditches.
But at seventeen bucks per drum it gets 2 expensive.
I can do it with regular 12'' to 18'' plastic culvert for about a third of what it would cost to use plastic drums.
3*I'm adding a 55 gallon plastic drum to the 30 gallon plastic drum on my fuel storage system.
4*I hear that!
I can buy 30 and 55 gallon plastic drums out of Columbus Ohio for 25 bucks A Piece but it cost another 25 dollars each to ship them the 125 miles to my place.
5*Ben there checked em out none available.
6*I bought a white 55 gallon plastic drum this morning from one of the 2 guys who do the same thing your guy does
His price on white or blue plastic 30 and 55 gallon drums is $17.
The other guy charges $20 for either size plastic drum. Blue or white.
The white ones are extremely hard to get a hold of in these parts.
7*After searching for months I was real glad to get his call today.

Gee, LB, what a bummer. If we could find a trucker needing a backhaul to your area A__N__D you were feeling entrepreneurial we could get you a whole (or part) of a semi load of drums which you could resell, use yourself, or whatever. Of course a closer point of origin would make more sense as surely South Central Oklahoma can't be the only place in North America where you can get good used drums under $10 each.

I strongly suspect some of the drum users are giving the drums away just to be rid of them and not have to deal with disposal. I have bought drums that were originally full of Kikoman Teryaki sauce, various scents (Rainforest, Spring morning, and the like, apparently used in cosmetics or household products.) The trailer load of plastic drums I bought were originally full of laundry detergent and most of them still had some in them. Apparently the minimum wage folks who had to pour out the contents were not highly motivated. I bought some steel drums with nice removable lids with clamping rings that had been filled with plastic bags of dried tomatoes.

Oh, my favorite is the one 55 gallon plastic drum I got from a pharmaceutical company that had a vanilla in it. Five or six years later I get that wonderful smell still every time I pour used motor oil into that barrel.

Pat[/QUOTE]1*You read that rite.
2*That's an idea.
3*Where is that point / $64,000.oo Question.
4*Yea and I sure would like to know where it is.
5*It ain't this place--> I was at a car wash today and asked them about drums.
They return the empty drums to be reused.
This is the same reply I get from every place I inquire.
6*I run an add in the local paper under the wanted section saying "drums wanted.
It runs 24/7 month in and month out .
It's never turned up any such user.
