Has anyone used synthetic oil in a Kubota tractor prior to 100 hrs of use? I have been told that diesel motors don't need the brakein that gas ones do and that it is ok to use synthetic oil almost from day one. However, when I spoke to the Kubota factory tech, he said that I should NEVER use synthetic oil in their motors.??? Thanks, Rich.

I put Mobil Delvac 1 in my tractor at the 50 hour change. The motor is broken in and the oil will cause no problems. The synthetic reduces friction but doesnt eliminate it. Therefore any breakin that calls for friction is still being donel.
Use normal maintainence and all will be well. Good luck Greg H |

At my 50 hr service, I put in Amsoil 15W-40 on the dealers recommendation. He also said I could double the time between service intervals if i wished.... Not so sure about that, tho...
