Default WOULD YOU USE NO KUBOTA HYDRAULIC FLUID??

It's not a matter of cost, just convienence. I have been using Super UDT in my B7800 changing it every 200 hours after the first 50 hour service. Since I now have a L4330 also, I will be changing oil more often.

I still will use Kubota filters as my dealer ships them to me via UPS, but I wonder if I should chance using a general purpose hydraulic fluid from the auto parts store. I live and work in the hot So CAL high desert. My tractors are used a lot in the summer heat. Winter temps are not a concern.

Why will you be changing it more frequently? The manual is 50, 200, 400 hours on the hydraulic fluid. I would not have any issues using a hydraulic fluid that meets UDT specifications. In fact, thats what I am using. Chevron's All Weather hydraulic fluid. The stuff at NAPA stores meets it as well the last time I checked.

No valid reason to use Kubota's oil -- in fact you can get by using NAPA oil filters as well.

The reason I will be changing more often is I now have TWO tractors to service. That's more oil to buy. The Kubota dealer is 1 1/2 hours away from me. I thought about using Amsoil but buying from an Amsoil dealer with shipping costs gets expensive.

The Auto Zone in town sells five gallon buckets of universal hydraulic fluid and I have been tempted to try it. I like synthtic oils like Super UTD as I run in a hot climate and need all the protection I can get.

Also, I was unable to edit the heading on this post. It was supposed to say, "Would you use NON Kubota fluid, not "no Kubota fluid."

where I live, I cannot get the Kubota UDT, and my Kubota manual lists like 10 other brands of oil they approve for use, the one I use is Shell DONAX, and it works the same as the original UDT the tractor came with, also for the engine oil I use Shell RIMULA, and the front axle Shell 80-90. That way, I use the same oil for my gas SUVs, my diesel truck and the tractors, so I buy big containers of oil and the Shell distributor brings them to my farm..........no complications.....

Super UDT synthetic?
My local Kubota dealer and Kubota corp claim it's not synthetic (as of about 4 yrs ago when I checked).
I use synthetic tractor hydraulic fluid in my HST. The label claims it's comaptible w/Kubota.
