Has anyone used SUPERKOTE 2000??

Hello, I just bought an 8 onz. can of this product and I'm almost ready to use it on my tractor.
For those of you that have never heard of it, its an anti-friccion fluid (not an additive!!) that you pour on any type of lubricant (generally engine, hydraulic or transmission oil) and it works producing a positive "+" charge on the metals, and as charges of the same polarity "+","+", repel themselves, this, they say, reduces friction about 90%; in cars, it will work for 80.000 km, and in other machinery for 2500 hrs.........., it wont go away with you changing the used oil.
What do you guys think about it??

I think products like this are along the lines of "snake oil".
They sell some stuff too that I can rub on my head and grow hair. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] <But I'm still bald like happy man here!
A good quality oil will have everything you need.
The more "other" you put in, the blend is compromised and theres less actual oil.
Owners manuals of about every modern motorized piece
of equipment recommend against additives. In my opinion.

I know what you mean (altough I'm not bald) , but they say this is NOT an additive, as you dont loose it when you change your used oil, and my cousin, that has mechanic studies, has seen in person the test, where they put a metal sphere in a press that shows how much pressure its applying, and the sphere is lubricated first with good quality oil and then later its lubricated with the same oil + the superkote and the sphere is spinning, and the pressure to stop it from spinning is a lot greater with the treatment than without it......
He also uses it on his diesel pickup, and has noticed that, when in the morning, he starts up the engine, it does'n "clank" as much as it did before.....
Years ago, people also said that plain good quality grease was all you needed, and as time passed, now people use grease with "additives" like silicon, teflon, litium, molibdenum, etc.; also, plain old good oil is being left behind by syntetic oils....gasoline and diesel fuels now have additives they didn't have years ago.....
so I aggree that there are a lot of those "snake oils" around, but there are also certain "additives" or "treatments" that have a significant positive influence on the engines and 'cause of the high extra cost they have, they are not added on the oils we buy at present times.....
I'll put this "snake oil" in my tractor, and keep you guys posted if I sincerely feel any positive change in how my tractor behaves.

I bought an aerosol can of BS repellant once. I sprayed it at a town meeting and it didn't work, the BS'ers kept right on speaking and telling me how I should spend my money to avoid their wrath. I couldn't get my money back 'cause the failure "to work as advertised" wasn't scientifically proven. Watch out for Snake oil, it is a pheromone.
How about the where all, end all, that's the best thing since sliced bread, and now it's even better since it's new and improved.
My point here is that there is hardly any way an average consumer can independently challenge or back up the claims of any Snake Oil product. I would first become suspicious because of the language used, if as you say, they claim it is not an additive. If you don't "add" it does it work by simply being in the vicinity of the equipment? When you pour it in are you subtracting it?
Admittedly there is a snake oil I prescribe to. It is red, comes in a red container and without being specific suffice it to say the initials are MMO. It is the only additive I have found to quieten hydraulic lifters when the metering discs get a bit sticky.
As far as ionic doctoring of mechanical components by chemical addition, I am doubtful an average person could prove or disprove the effect. I know I don't use my tractor in a lab environment.
If snake oil gives you peace of mind and you are convinced that no harm will be done then go for it.

I suggest you just keep your money in your pocket and keep on tractoring unless you have sticky lifters, that, I have a cure for. This advice is worth what you paid for it.
