Default Mixing hydraulic fluids

Replacing a blown hydraulic pump this weekend and will need to add more fluid. The dealer replaced all factory fluids and used Shell Tellus AW32 for the hydraulics. I have been trying to find the Tellus fluid but cannot find it anywhere (Raleigh/Durham North Carolina – anyone know I can find in the area?).

My question is this: given the fact that I cannot find the Tellus fluid, does it hurt to mix fluids, or, should I flush the entire system and replace with new?

Thanks.

There will be no problems mixing fluids. No need to flush.

Did you ask the dealer where he got/gets it? Can you get some from them??

Gerard,
He gets it from the Shell plant in Memphis, Tennessee.

Still looking for something good, but, a little bit closer.

Thanks.
