Generic Hydraulic Fluid

If the machine requires an oil that is not listed on your oild utf can.. I think i would bite the bullet and get a new pail of utf that met the specs.

As for the crankcase oil... I guess CNH has gotten lazy with specs.. My last 2 NH manuals list the applicable sae / api specs for the diesel "c" rated oils.

As a last resort.. you can always look up the Nh part number and see what spec that oil is.. or use the most curent diesel rated oil available.. etc.

I was just researching a similar thing too. The local IH delaer has the HyTran Ultra pretty high priced. My local TSC has Mystik JT-5 (made by Citgo, I believe) and it meets the HyTran Ultra (MS-1209) spec. I forget the price, but probably a savings of $10+.

Now that's some useful information. What happened to the universal standards for lubes from SAE?? Life would be simpler if those were around still.
