Does anyone make wheel spacers for tractors??

I went to put my new tire chains on the rear tires of my tractor & they are right up against the fender supports inside the fender.

Does anyone make wheel spacers or anything to make chains work on the back of a compact tractor?

Oh yeah it is a Mahindra 2615 HST

On my New Holland TC18, you swap the rears left and right. This turns the tire around but maintains proper direction for rotation (indicated by an arrow on the tire). Since the dish in the rim isn't centered, it moves the tire out a few inches and gives clearance for the chains. Kinda hard to put it in words.

Basically my wheels are on "inside out" and swapped left to right. hope this helps!

Edit- sorry Tom, didn't know that you can adjust R4 with your TC18 - my kubota rear tires are one whole unit.

TomOfTarsus (I thought) was talking about R1 or AG tires which can be "adjusted" to different settings. I'm assuming Wyld Bill that your Mahindra 2615 HST has R4 or industrial tires. Check with a Mahindra dealer... kubota makes a wheel spacer for L2800; for 1" per side for $200 a set.

No rim spacing options on those? yikes... wouldn't want a tractor like that! I'm used to the oldies that you can either dish, or change the center to rim bolt pattern.. gives you lots of choices..

Wow, quite an advantage for me in one way... on the other hand, as I'm set up right now, getting air in the rear tires with the valve on the inside can be ... <ahem> interesting... as I did last night (it's in the garage and i didn't want to move it the couple of feet it'd have taken to put the valves in a more accesible location... where's our "dunce" smiley?!?).

I do have th R4's, and when they are mounted "correctly", that is valves facing out, etc., the wheels are close to the fenders and the chains would rub as well. Thus the dish on the rim is deeper looking from the inside, when the tires are mounted "properly."

So with my rim design, swapping them left to right and turning them "inside out" increases the space between the tire and the fender, while maintaining proper rotation orientation.

Don't mean to flog the deceased equine, just wanted to be sure I was explaining it well.

Talked to Unverferth here in Ontario this morning re 2" spacers for my John Deere- about $380 per spacer, over $800 for a set by the time I added tax...Gotta find a nother way

Might be less expensive to buy US. If I recall another poster got 6" extensions for around US$ 500. You can probably find who if you search the JD forums during the last 2-3 weeks.

Go to a metal shop, get some 1" steel disks cut to fit your hub and drilled for your bolt pattern. Sort of like a wheel weight mounted inside the rim instead of outside. You might need longer bolts, but other than that you should be good to go. Just have them made as thick as you can lift or need.

You could also make them yourself without too much trouble if you can cut the steel. Around here it costs about $.50 per pound for scrap steel.

Have the sales person mount something on the 3ph and make tiny adjustments up and down, just to see how you like it. . Tractorbynet.com - The next best thing to seat time!
