Could you take some pictures of your landline I would like to build one. Yours looks nice. Thanks.

12 ft of I beam, 20ft of square tubing, 12 ft of 1/2 angle iron, and 3 ft of 3/8 angle iron. I got all this steel for free so I don't know about cost. But it went all very well and I have used it a lot for grading lanes.

This is the time of year I dub around doing useless things just to be outside in the good weather. It is way to muddy to do anything else. So today I played with the ice, slush, mud and water along the road. Looking at the forecast if I waited to the end of the week it would be all gone and starting to dry up. More than a month earlier than normal.

I put 3 hours on my bobkitty today, an hour of which was driving on the road to my coworkers house. It is amazing how long a five mile trip is at 9 mph!

Anyways, he had a few trees in his backyard that were still leaning over from the hurricane in August, so I cut the trees down for him, and pushed the mess of branches and kudsu vines back into the corner of his property. I'm continually amazed at what my little tractor can accomplish in such a short time! My tractor is at 49 hours after this project, so it looks like I'll be servicing it soon :)

I finally got some seat time!!!!

I rode 170 miles on my Harley today (over an hour in traffic as part of it though) but when I got home it was SO Beautiful I fired up the tractor and moved a couple or four grapples full of logging slash onto the bonfire pile for my St. Pat's party this Friday Night!

I also got a special request from my littlest 3 year old daughter to "Ride the tractor" which in the past was just to let he sit in the drivers seat... Butthis time I offered to give her a ride up the hill to see the horses! She loved it. (for the safety police, all she did was sit in my lap, and all I did was drive up the driveway and back, no or minimal risks).

But she really loved it! (So did I!!!).

Be well all,
David

My tractor is at 49 hours after this project, so it looks like I'll be servicing it soon :)

I'm over 62 hours and I NEED to go and just do the danged service (I have all the parts)...

I found a leaking fitting on the FEL solid HYD lines I need to tighten...

Yesterday I spent most of the day cleaning up the mess I made...

I started by taking my truck and flatbed trailer into town where my big house is and meeting with my tenants there.

They had gotten approval to remove a large cherry tree from the association (I approved also, but I wanted the wood for my smoker).

The tree was pretty close to 50' tall and the stump was over 15". We used my 20" MS290 FarmBoss, and his 14" Stihl (I'm getting one of those!).

I used all of the chainsaw skills I learned from Mike (LstInThot) and the results were almost professional (Thank you Mike). We used a rope and occassionally a come-along to control each main branch as we dropped them to prevent damage to houses, cars, and other trees. We were 100% successful. I also ended up trimming a crepe myrtle with a drastic cutback to reign in it's growth.

It took less than 2 hours to cut it up into scrap, and save piles. It took another 2 hours to load & tie down the scrap on the flat bed, and the good stuff into the bed of my truck. After a late lunch I got some seat time by unloading the trailer with my grapple I got all the branches in 2 loads and dropped them on a burn pile.

After that I piled all the good wood near my bucking area and I burned off the rest of the gas in my saw chopping it up into small chunks perfect for my smoker.

It was not a lot of seat time, but it sure was nice and efficient seat time.:D

Be well,
David

Got about half an hour of seat time after 7:00 this evening.
My first since Oct or Nov 2011.
No snow at all this year except 2 or 3 flurries that barely if at all covered the grass .

I also got some nice seat time today. 2 hours on using the box-blade and my land-plane smoothing off an area for a new yard about as it's about 1 1/2 acres. Just have to get the tiller out, till it all up then land-plane once more and seed! Wish I had a Brillion seeder but the Deere 265 will seed it just fine
