Today I started trimming the hedges around the property. Cutting the branches with the tractor mounted hydraulic trimmer, picking them up with the grapple on the minidigger, driving them to the burning place ... Will be doing that for a number of days.

that would be slick if you made up a little hitch to bolt to the mini-ex blade a just pulled the trailer behind you as you go.

Used the tree puller on the biggest cedar tree that I have tried to pull so far. Raised the rear end when I tried to pull it straight up, so I curled down while pulling up and moving forward. That broke some roots loose.

Curled up while pulling up and moving backwards. That broke some roots on the other side.

Went forward again and it started coming up.

It came out of the ground and brought another tree with it!
P8200018.JPG

Shook the dirt off of the roots and the other tree fell to the ground.

I looks to be about 3" in diameter.

2 trees, 1 pull!

X, it looks like you can get some work done with that thing. You did a number on those cedar trees.

Yep, thanks. It also excels at moving dirt with the 6' wide, 1 cubic yard bucket.

X, is that clay/dirt just what was there naturally? You could grow something in that dirt. I have a little clay on our river land, but up here at the house, it is nothing but sand. We grow prickly pears mostly.

This part of the pond was under water when we bought this place about 2 years ago. I opened the drain valve because I need fill dirt and the center of the pond was only three feet deep due to the silt.

We also have a lot of prickly pear.

The pond from the for sale listing.

It went dry 6 months later, so I opened the drain valve to keep it that way.

In the first picture, #1 is where I am removing dirt, #2 is V417 tire tracks, where I took short cuts! :D
