TODAYS SEAT TIME

I dropped a standing dead sweet gum the other day, about 14" across at the stump & decided to get the stump out today with the 1025R FILB. I started out with the ripper mounted but after 15 or 20 minutes decided I needed to put the bucket back on. It took getting down 3' or so below grade to remove enough lateral support to allow enough leverage to crack the tap roots but finally got it loose. I've been impressed how much this little guy can get done...

I mowed yesterday.

Today I aerated the grass. I also pulled some pines out with the BX.

We are having some fantastic fall weather. Been working in the woods. Sometimes I just sit and look at all the colors and light around me.
Here is a twisted spruce wind throw I cut and got the bottom log stuck behind the stump and another tree on the right. Used a snatch block down below to pull it back so it would be free to winch in.

I lucked into a beautiful day off today & took advantage of my new Bro-Tek ripper tooth (thank you Richard) to dig out a big maple stump that wasn't going well with my backhoe bucket. Took me about 7 hours & I still have to get it out of the hole but I need to get some of the dirt off to lighten it up!!

Spent two hours on my Fordson pulling my 11' disc over 6 acres of wet hay field. We had over 3" of rain over the weekend with one day to dry, but I really have to get this done as soon as possible. I thought I'd scratch up the surface to help speed the drying before I attempt to rip it up and smooth it out. I was pushing water in a couple spots, but kept from spinning and digging in. Hopefully after a couple of sunny days I can hit it hard.

Sorry, no pics, as my phone was inside on the charger. I'll try to get some pics when I work it over later.

Had a chance to score some used telephone poles! My BIL borrowed my trailer to haul them from his town to my farm, where I'll store them until we're ready to use them. I didn't ask how he loaded them (no tractor, but lots of freinds), but I knew exactly how I was going to unload them. :thumbsup:

Just another lazy morning on the farm. :cool:

My seat time was spent under the hood. I had to find a washer for the oil plug on my tiller, and while I was at the parts house I saw a battery that would fit my B7500. It was just $100, which was 40 cheaper than Kabota wanted for one. When I got home, I got the old one out and put the new one in. I charged it for a couple of hours, now I'm ready to get back to tilling. {without having to use the jumper cables first}
