Have been taking out a few more dead trees over past few weekends. Grapple is priceless.

I scraped about an inch of hard packed snow off the ice underneath today. Also blew out under the east window for the dog to 'doo' her thing.

Two were post oak trees loss to recent Texas droughts. The big one, with limbs removed was a live oak that just tipped over after the big rains we had last October. It had always leaned at almost 45 degrees but, saturated soil couldn't hold it up.

Two were post oak trees loss to recent Texas droughts. The big one, with limbs removed was a live oak that just tipped over after the big rains we had last October. It had always leaned at almost 45 degrees but, saturated soil couldn't hold it up.

This is the tipped over Live Oak that we had to "dis-assemble".



Let the leaves come off so we could have better visibility of the job ahead.



Removed as much as possible that could be reached standing on the ground.



Still had some very big limbs overhead to could potentially allow wife to cash in my life insurance policy so, used big tractor and grapple to roll the whole thing over.



Got all the rest of the "widow makers" cut off.



Had to take more of the top off to get weight down to a point that tractor and grapple could lift. The main trunk still super heave as treee was not really dead yet and full of moisture.



Everything cleaned up. Just some tire tracks to level out.

It was heavy enough that I almost had to hookup the Bush Hog on rear for some additional counter balance. Was able to raise it up about 8-9 ft. to put on top of burn pile.

Thanks very much. It was completely overgrown with weeds and Yaupon when we bought it in 2006.
