I'm wonder if converting my 80hp Perkins to natural gas (CNG) is feasible.

Is your Perkins now a diesel? Excuse my ignorance if that's all they make. I'm not a big diesel guy.
I used to work on propane forklifts. The conversion from gasoline to propane is easy. You do lose horsepower as gasoline holds more btu per unit than propane, but the loss is about 15% on average, give or take.

It's a diesel.

AFAIK, it is not feasible to convert a diesel to Propane/Nat Gas, there is a company that seems to do it (Omnitek) but from their diagram, you would need to convert the diesel to gas (w/spark plugs) then convert that to diesel. you would probably be better off going to biodiesel or recycled french fry oil than trying to convert a diesel to run off of propane.

Just my $0.02

Aaron is correct. Gasoline to lpg is easy as they have similar compression ratios. Diesel is a much higher compression ratio. So, engine machining would be in order. There goes the cost saving.
