I was once driving home and the car in front of me was probably a 1957 T-bird or something collectable like that.
At a curve in the road, a bunch of gas swashed out his vehicle. Clearly he had a full tank and no cap
I didn't know if he knew that or not and traffic got us seperated BUT, I did write down his license plate.
The next day, I wrote him a letter explaining that I wasn't a nut and what I saw. Was doing so, in case he DID have some kind of problem that he was otherwise unaware of...
I then took the letter (unsealed so they could read it) to the place where I go to get my license plates renewed... I basically asked her if she could read the letter to see the good intent of it, look his number up and send it to him FOR me (I already had postage on it)
Bottom line.... she simply gave me his name and address right on the spot
Although I was VERY surprised by this (and perhaps since 911, this logic has changed) she said that they don't give that info out over the phone but if someone comes in for it that they DID give that info out.
I sent it on to him and a couple days later, got a very gracious thank you phone call from him.
So, perhaps you can get his name/address same way...
anyone here have a friend 'Guido' that he can borrow for a day??
