I'm looking at a Mahindra 2810 with independant PTO - just a push of the button. Sounds great but has this feature been around long enough to prove reliable?

I'm leery....but then I was also leery of power windows too.

Not being familiar with the machine you are refering to, is it simple an electric solonoid engaging/disengaging the pto clutch?

Yes. 2 switches on the console too - one master, one "Manual/Automatic" engagement when the 3pt is put down.

It is probably an electro-hydraulic clutch. The Iseki-made Masseys have had this since the early 90's. My 1125 has it and it's one of the best features, in my opinion.

The Mahindra's and the Iseki's seem to have a lot in common, so it's probably the same system.

It seems to be very reliable.

I wouldn't let this be a negative factor in my buying decision.
