Re: Where are tractors made?
I'm not sure either. I just remember them telling me that Ford owned the company, even though Ford is no longer part of New Holland. I don't know how to find out for sure.

Re: Where are tractors made?
Fiat owns CNH, Ford has nothing to do with tractors anymore. CNH will be fine when they get the rest of their restructuring done and when the platform tractors start rolling off the line it will save them a bundle.

Re: Where are tractors made?
Curious what you mean by "platform tractors", and are we waiting to see something new, per your comment that they will soon be "rolling off the line"? Are they going to be cheaper to produce, so as to "save them a bundle". What are you teasing us with? Thanks for any info you would like to share.

Re: Where are tractors made?
The Boomers are platform tractors as are the C-IH STX tractors and eventually all of the New Holland and Case International Agricultural and Industraial equipment. They platform is the base unit with different sheetmetal for NH or C-IH. The Boomers have Case-IH twins which are the DX's that are the same machine except for a few cosmetic and optional changes which saves CNH a bundle the STX's twin is the NH TJ. When they get straightened out hopefully they will pass the savings down to the consumer but who knows?
To try and clear it up a little more, CNH wants to have the engine and tranny go down the assembly line and when it gets to the end they either put Red sheetmetal or Blue sheetmetal on it depending on which dealership it will go to.

Re: Where are tractors made?
As usual Robert is correct again!
The next shared platform tractors will be out this summer. The TL/JXU,TS/MXU,TM/MXM the larger ones will be a Magnum(not sure of the name)/TG. Same basic tractors, just some options available only on one color or the other. some will have different hoods and cabs.
There are also older Fiat models with new hoods and cabs being made in Turkey,in both red and blue.

Re: Where are tractors made?
I can not wait till the JXU is released, have you heard yet if or when C-IH is going to get a version of the TN. I was never impressed with their old line up of tractors below 100hp so this should make the Case guys happy to get a better variety of tractors under 100 hp.

Re: Where are tractors made?
Yeah, Jay does a wonderful job with Toytractorshow.com and he knows a lot of people to get accurate info. It is hard to imagine but he started that site a couple years ago to showcase the toy tractor hobby and real life farming and has evolved into one of the top sites for up to date information on real tractors and toy ones as well.
Another great board is http://www.geocities.com/agmachinery/ if you are interested in the going on's of the tractor world both overseas and in North America.
