I know the area well.I was born in Montgomery WV.Were my Dads from.We still keep up with my Grand parents home Mothers side in Mt.Nebo WV.Moved to Cinn.OH. and lived in Bel Air MD. from the late 60's to the early 80's.I know that I couldn't get used to the winters again after 30yrs. in the south. But we sure do like to spend time in Summersville, Mt.Nebo.

LBrown59, family moved to NJ in the late 60's with my parents and sister for economic reasons and now that my wife and I have retired, we are moving back to WV for economic reasons. Our children are grown ans we could never afford to buy the property or build the house we want in NJ.

Tried to get a hotel room in Wheeling about 15 years ago. No room at the inn. Christmas light festival. Never seen so many lights. Of course Roy Clark was also in town that evening and he had the holiday Inn booked up.

Pretty country seebb quite a bit stopping for gas every 140 miles.

My wife and I went to see the Christmas light festival on our 30th wedding anniversary back in 1994.

That day driving there was like driving through an Alice in Wonderland deal.
There had been an ice storm and all the trees on all the hills were covered with ice. .
In the evening before dark all this ice was lit up in brilliant hues from golden yellow to bright orange from the setting sun ..
I've never seen anything like it in all my life.
To top that all off the Christmas lights in the park were just out of this world.
What a dreamy day and enchanted evening that was.
