I live on the side of a hill and had a 70 year old silver fir cut down as it was dying. The next day we cut it up and loaded it on the tractor and hauled it to the top of the hill. The little BX24 can climb some pretty steep hills. I accidentally unloaded the bucket with the log in the back hoe and did a wheely. So you want to unload the back first.

Good tip on unloading the back first, I bet that won't happen to you again! Another tip would be to make sure you have your FEL as low as possible when unloading the back.

That's some good manuevering with your BH, on the first picture, to get that log in that position.

That butt section looks like it was designed for a coffee table! Slice it about 4" thick and soak it in PEG....
Bet you were glad to have 4wd going up that hill...

Yes 4WD was definetly needed. I had to keep my hand on the backhoe controls every once in a while as it can loosen its grip when riding. I didn't test it to see if the log would slip. I just assumed it would slip if I didn't keep the grip tight.
