massey ferguson 85 question
I just purchased a M.F. 85, I have a problem that I am sure is operator error. While using the bush hog, the P.T.O. stops working at times. It happens when going around in a turn, or going uphill. Can someone please shed some light on this problem for me ...Thanks...Mark

Re: massey ferguson 85 question
Is it possible there is a seat safety switch that is affected by your weight shifting?

Not a seat switch on this old girl. Perhaps the slip clutch on your cutter needs adjustment. Can you verify the PTO shaft actually stops turning?

Re: massey ferguson 85 question
yes, Dieselsmoke, the shaft stops turning. I can then move to a flatspot or straighten out the turn, after fiddling with levers it starts back up.

Re: massey ferguson 85 question
Check th fluid levels in the tractor. Sounds like it could be low on hydraulic oil.
