Hey Hayden,
Pretty good sumation there,sir. You hit the nail squarely on the head for the powershift. But for the direction chage it can also be mechanical(clutch needed) or electrical in nature. Or a combination of electro/hydraulic.
One nice thing about a power-shuttle is that brings with it a wet clutch to tractors that do not have them usually with out it.

With the powershift it functions as both. You can forward and reverse with it just like the power reverser on my 4600. I guess we'd have to add a third category for it.
