It's a logging winch with a gin pole crane, yes.
They are not uncommon, but nowadays mainly used by small farmers and land owners for small-scale log retrieval, mainly firewood. It helps a lot with the higher winch point to avoid logs getting caught in stumps, stones, ditches etc. As seen in the first video it can be used to load logs on the trailer, but can also be used just for winching:

Nowadays it's more common with a forwarder crane on the trailer:

Or converting your ATV to a mini-forwarder:

The Super Dexta video is me. I bought that crane new from a swedish manufacture in 2008

I can think of all kinds of uses for that Super Dexta - very nice!
But I have to wonder how long it would be before I really damaged something expensive with it. The garage door has seen enough of my FEL & ROPS.
