You sure the last digit is tenths? Hmmm.. Seems odd to only have 3 digit plus a tenths hr meter.

Edit: looking at your added pic it sure seems to only have 3 digits.

I'd guess just have to go by looks of wear and tear on the tractor. It could of turned over several times.

I'm not sure, maybe someone can verify that its tenths, but that tractor appears to have more than 416 hrs.

Next time you use the tractor, keep a close eye on the last digit and see if it turns over every tenth of an hour. If it does, then it registers tenths.

Just to add to my last response, it sure looks like a "tenths" digit wheel to me, from the picture you attached.

Answer -- you can't.

You have to just look at the the condition of the machine and try and determine if it is first time round or 10th time.

It has a cigarette lighter along side the proofmeter. At least the coil was also used that way back in the day.
