I have some new pics of a development up in Georgia that is 3000 acres that I cut 8 miles of right of ways that are all ditched and covered in Bahia grass, they where 60' wide, there where 5 entrances off the highway that I cut also, it takes 1 1/2 days
with a six foot cutter, there are deer and turkey everywhere. It has to be cut 3 or 4 times a year

Got my fall bush hogging done today and managed to get a few pics. To speed things up I brought our 2550 down from the other farm so I could pull the 10' bush hog with it. I had been working at it here and there with my NAA and 5' bush hog, but it was getting time to get this task done for the year.

I've mowed hundreds of acres over the years with this combo, JD 2550 row-crop and 1008 pull type bush hog:

I ended up finishing about 8:00 so it was getting pretty dark. The last couple pics aren't the best, but were of the last field which was the most overgrown. Some of the autumn olive trees there were close to 10' tall with trunks about 4" in diameter, less than an acre but tough going.

Another pic of the field mentioned in the last post, cutting down 1yr old autumn olive growth (man they are tenacious):

I am doing some heavy bushhogging for my neighbor that lives on some low property that has a branch running through it, kind of slow going but it is better to be safe than sorry and tear something up,I am doing a little at a time as he has money to spend on it.I will come back later and root rake the palmettos out,and then add dirt and regrade as needed

Tour before and after photos look like my son's property here in TN after we get done cutting. Problem now is: How do we change it into a grass area that will look good from the back porch once the house is built. I'm talking about 10+ acres here. We have a BOXBLADE, BRUSH CUTTER, RAKE, AND 6' BLADE PLUS pallet pullers for small trees.

What I do is go from one area to another and dig holes with my excavator about 5' wide 5' deep and 30' in length, I dig these holes in areas where something is not going to be built because they eventually settle some and will need additional dirt, but with palmettos and vegetation from the top it is not much. Anyway I root rake the palmettos out along with top layer of vegetation and push it into the holes and spread the clean dirt out over the area and add more dirt as needed, plant grass and watch it grow. Ten acres will take a few days but it will look nice when you are done!
