Got to do some mowing today with my 2040 for the first time. I picked up a used 6' IM cutter yesterday for 500$. It's in pretty good shape a little rust but not bad. This rig is SO much faster and more comfortable than the little Kubota with 4' cutter! I did hit a stump and the blades rubbed a ring on the deck, I need to find out why theres so much play there that the blades could come up that high. It's a kinda light duty mower, but it should last me a few years till I upgrade. Anyways I loving this little 2040! Here's some pics from today

    Foreman,

    Is that a 15' bat behind a 6040/7040?

I somehow think, that's not good. You'll strain your back.

All the "experts" with all their "convetional wisdom" here say you can't run a 15' batwing without a lot more HP than a Kubota 5040!!!
Looks like my man from Texas knows conventional wisdom is usually wrong!!

And in 2wd,1900rpms(1 or 2 high range),at a speed of 4/5mph,it can be done(just dont wait until its 3 or 4ft tall before you mow)

Yeah! Kobota's are beasts! Wish I had pictures of me pulling a full sized dump truck out of my pasture! It's good to see you running a 15' cutter. Makes my 6' look like a toy.

Here is some footage, from the late 70's, of my Ford 3000 tractor with a Woods D80 mower... Field Mowing - YouTube.

We still have this same setup.
