If it wouldn't be for things like this:

He believed in the promise of GM foods, was commissioned to study them, and conducted the first ever independent one on them anywhere. Like other researchers since, he was shocked by his findings. Rats fed GM potatoes had smaller livers, hearts, testicles and brains, damaged immune systems, and showed structural changes in their white blood cells making them more vulnerable to infection and disease compared to other rats fed non-GMO potatoes. It got worse. Thymus and spleen damage showed up; enlarged tissues, including the pancreas and intestines; and there were cases of liver atrophy as well as significant proliferation of stomach and intestines cells that could be a sign of greater future risk of cancer. Equally alarming, results showed up after 10 days of testing, and they persisted after 110 days that's the human equivalent of 10 years.

And the fact that there have been 'exucutive orders' since George H.W.Bush, keeping the FDA from examining GMO crops, I might be more in line with the technology.

IMHO, ya don't need executive orders, banning the testing of a food product that is being distributed to the public, unless there is something to hide.

Large corporations that have world wide production and sales facilities have enormous power. There is an endless list of prominant and influential people that the purse strings of these huge corporations can entice. World leaders, politicians, are only a few that are perceptible to selfish greed.A large majority of people can be swayed, by the enticement of material rewards, to turn their heads and look the other way. Just a reminder that individual morals are on the decline worldwide---yes even in this GREAT COUNTRY. Just a thought. Happy tractoring.:tractor::tractor:

Monsanto wants to control the world's food supply through control of the seed used for food crops, ie "Terminator" seeds, which means they don't actually produce viable seeds of their own. They want to have farmers buy new seed every year from them...very profitable for them, eh.

Exactly. Their business model seems to be at odds with anything that doesn't pay them.

It is quite encouraging that there was only one "shoot the messenger" post so far. The fact that Monsanto would not speak for themselves when given the chance and prefers that we get the word from their public relations agents says volumes about the numerous indictments brought to light in the film. Of course, for those of us who have been paying attention, most of it is old news. Market forces are fine, but when monopolies erupt, or industries collude, it readily becomes a back-door slavery with commercials telling us it is freedom and we should love it.

Let's make that two. If you and the others will take off your foil hats and do ACTUAL research, you'd see that Monsanto isn't the only game in town. Just like any other company, they have every right to protect their enormous investment. Some of their strong-arm tactics are in poor choice, but that's a different subject. Fact is, I'd venture a guess that not one single person with your mindset actually understands anything other than what the anti-Monsanto nut cases want you to believe. The internet sure has created a lot of sheep. And just for the record, I've never used one Monsanto product. Not one.
