Pull Type BrushHog To 3pt
Well I'm done with using my pull type King Kutter brush hog, I'm converting it to a 3pt hitch, Here's some of my progress today. I flipped up the pull type frame and threw on the chain to lift it, I have a single tail wheel kit for the rear. But I was wondering with the toplink it slides under a steel support, it hooks fine but should I cut it off drill and put a pin in? Also is a Clevis hitch better or just a pair of cat-1 bolts?

Re: Pull Type BrushHog To 3pt
What are you going to use for lift frame going to the rear? If it going to be solid then use a clevis at the top link to allow for following ground contour. If the rear lift is flexible then the way you have it hooked should be fine. If it moves on the top hook more than you like you could just weld a piece of round stock to the old drawbar to fill up the hook hole some.

Re: Pull Type BrushHog To 3pt
Looks like you got it working really good. Can you show another close up pic of the mower? Looks like you went from the dual tail wheels to a single?
Nothing could be finer than riding my JD790 in South Carolina!!

Yes works whole lot better. The tail wheels before was for the pull type and were stationary, I only got 1 frame which was free, so I went with 1 tail wheel. I can get more pictures tomorrow, was gone all day today. Was backing up into 1-3 inch samplings and tractor didn't even know it. Not bad for a king Kutter,

Here ya go. Went out with a flashlight, all it took was a weld on piece of angle iron and a hole to pivot on. The rest was all bolt on. I have a spring on to keep the chain out of the pto shaft when when theirs slack in it. Can use paint later but works great now
