What's in your tractor toolbox?

Although the right tool for the job is always best.... Sometimes you have to make do with what's on hand.

With that in mind I am curious what everyone keeps in their tractor toolbox.

well i just fabbed one up with a .50 cal ammo box for my 3520 cab tractor and put in it:

-a chain
-spare lynch pins
-a top link pin
-a clevis
-a extra large ribbed magnum in case i see a wild goat:thumbsup:

Basic hand tools. Extra clips and pins, wire ties.

I busted out laughing at the last one in your list, that could be taken so very wrong....


In my tool box on the B3200, I have a hitch pin, top link pin, some lynch pins, shear bolts for PHD, shop rag, and an adjustable wrench. Ford NAA doesn't have a toolbox yet.

The bigger tractors at the farm generally have most of the same stuff but also would include (depending on tractor):

-extra blades for the disc mower/wrench to change them
-extra sickle sections for mo-co/rivets/sickle section tool
-shear bolts for baler
-clevis
-large ball-peen hammer
-pliers, screw driver, etc
-couple tarp straps
-scissors

I have 4 tool boxes on my tractor, a L3540.
#1 contains a 3 foot pre bar, and room for long stuff

#2 contains a 10 &12" crescent, 2 pair of channel locks, needle nose, straight blade & Phillips screw driver, round punch, chisel, a couple files

#3 contains a 1/2" ratchet driver, and an assortment of sockets that i have used, combination wrenches that i have used I keep adding to these!,

#4 contains, lynch pins, sheer bolts, top link pin, El tape, el ties, fuses, wd40, some emery cloth, a couple of shop towles, 1/2 pound of dirt and grass

On the tractor, 1 can of wasp spray, 37oz ball-ping hammer, 3 matched chains, 1 short grab chain for the center hook, 3 pairs of assorted clevis, 3 chain shorteners, 1 large can of bear (dog) spray, spray can of molly grease, a machete knife, a pistol on me and in my pocket a cell phone that does not work half the time, a large bottle of ice tea, and a fire extinguisher.

I probable forgot something! Every time I have to go back to the truck or barn cause I did not have it on the tractor I get more than what i need and put it somewhere in or on the tractor!

I only have 33 acres, I keep a stanley knife for cutting bale strings, numerous gloves, hats, a measuring tape and licorice...the soft australian kind , a pouch of cds and my ipod , all in the cab. When I'm fencing I throw everything in the bucket.

I don't have tool box on my tractor.

I walked past one tractor coming in from the barn and remember seeing an empty beer bottle holding the lid up a bit.

A few of you said you didn't have a tool box. I have a 3000 Ford and I'm not sure but I think its against the law not to have a tool box on it I'm pretty sure that's one of the first things ford puts on there tractors in my box:

Adjustable wrench (also serves as hammer)
Extra lynch pins
Few extra bolts w/ nuts
Large screwdriver (also serves as chisel)
Lineman pliers
Channel lock pliers (must have)
Grease rag
Small pieces of tie wire (remember what I drive)
