Smart thing: Getting a skid steer quick tach to switch between bucket and forks.
Dumb thing: Not locking the skid steer quick tach after switching from forks to bucket and dumping the bucket and its contents into the back of my dump truck.Kubota BX 2230, Cat 287B MTL, Kubota 161-3, Kobelco SK115SR

Re: Dumb Thing.........Smart Thing.
Smart thing: Jig around in the woods to get tractor on nice little level spot with a good angle for the winch cable. Winch two nice heavy logs right up tight to the winch.
Dumb thing: Jump in the tractor to head out for the landing and find a big tree dead center and 2inches in front of bucket."If you're not making any mistakes then you're not doing anything"

Dumb: Pick up too much without ballast and rear tires jump up 2 feet.
Smart: Do nothing but breathe until you figure out which position is "bucket down" before you move the joystick.

Most recent lesson-
Dumb thing: spend three hours fighting the PHD in 100 degree heat drilling holes for fence.
Smart thing: run to TSC for new auger. $140 and holes drill in seconds with no jumping up and down, putting water in hole, or choice words. Amazing what good center point and teeth will do to dig a hole. No wonder neighbor was so willing to loan the implement.
