My Branson 4020 has the pto drive running all the time with or without clutch depressed. How do you stop the rotation of the pto drive? If I shut down engine and engage the pto lever the tractor will not start.
Welcome from Oklahoma. I would contact your Branson dealer and see if there are adjusments or what it may take to fix that. You might also post this in the Branson forum, might be a common problem.
Is the PTO spinning due to a draggy clutch? If you were to hook up a load to the PTO shaft will it drive it normally or will it slip? The fact that it will not start with the PTO lever on means the interlock switch is workiing but I dont know how PTO clutch is actuated on your macine. If it is an electrical engagement then I would guess the clutch is just dragging the PTO shaft but it would not be able to carry a load.
If the PTO is on with full clutch engagement then you have a hazardus situation.Be careful. Dont work around the tractor when it is running
