Don't have the Antonio Carrera, but do have a Pasquali that is an articulating machine. Works good in tight-spaces, can be a challange with something long hanging off the 3pt, and having an FEL attached.

Hi all
First articulate "capable of speech, using language easily and fluently; etc ...". Antonio Carrera tractors aren't that smart yet but they are articulated. I have only sat in one when I was looking at buying a tractor last year. They are brilliantly designed and well built for their specific usage as orchard tractors which operate in narrow rows between trees. They are quite low to the ground, you don't climb up into them but sit down in them like a car and that low centre of gravity, with the articulated axle, means that are very very stable. The axle can bend up-and-down and left-right. If you run over a rock with the front left wheel the rear left wheel does not lift up as the axle bends. The seat and controls are reversible so to go backwards you don't look over your shoulder but rotate 180 degrees with the seat, steering wheel and control panel and now your facing the other way! The only problem is that with a reversible cabin and a low eight the axle is between your feet and quite high.

That's a John Deere weight-box with 2" receiver hitch welded thru the middle, (before being filled with concrete) on the 3pt & stock Pasquali FEL on front.

The Carraro tractors are great for demanding undulating/hillside work ( especially with dual wheels all round) & excell in orchards/vineyards because of their low profile - overall they have the agility of a mountain goat.
The compromise with these compact Italian hillside tractors ( Carraro/Valpadana/Pasquali) is whilst they handle PTO rotary implements (tillers, mowers etc.) & spray/trailer work well, any demanding 3PL drawn implement like a chisel or disc plough, ripper, grader will place considerably greater stress on the these tractors (as will a FEL in heavy applications ) causing failure/fracturing/weakening of the articulation joints/axle castings/mounts - being a compact tractor there are also other compromises..
We have previously run both a c.70hp Valpadana (pictured) & a Carraro for weed control in hilly country.
In summary special purpose tractors which will accommplish some tasks other tractors can't, but not overall as versatile/rugged as a 2WD or FWA.
Why are you considering a Carraro, do you have a specialised application for a hillside tractor?
