I was thinking I would pick up a backhoe for my JD 855 think it is a 7a have not been able to locate a used one nearby. So over the winter spending time on TBN. Then I started thinking about all the other things I use the 3pt for, York rake, mower, tiller you get the idea so unless I want to spend lots of time changing looks like it is out. So does any one have any experience with a Bobcat 384 there smallest excavator? Thinking of looking at a used one if I can talk better half into it.

Re: BACKHOES LETS SEE THEM
there is no sand in the area were the pics were taken about 20 miles north of tulsa ok, there is about 1 foot of awesome dirt then it is clay, that is y i had to have a new aerobic septic put in. i did get lucky on my little 2.5 acres, my neighbor had one put in and about 3 foot down they hit rock and had to jackhammer the hole deep enough for the tank. i guess im lucky because i didnt have to deal with the rocks. i am actually selling my house and moving to the grand lake area in oklahoma, i am closing on the sell of my house in the morning.

Re: BACKHOES LETS SEE THEM
My New Holland is 45 hp and will dig a hole 102" deep. It has a 16" bucket and a mechanical thumb. It is a frame mount BH. I dug out a food plot in my woods with it and this 85 foot, 18" maple almost manhandled my tractor. I got it done, but that was max for my set up.
