Re: ford 2600-
well.. can we get just a little bit more than 'it's broke' ?
was it running fine then shut down?
was it running then shut down while running?
was it getting harder to start and now finally won't start?
does she have good spark at the plugs?
if yes.. have you checked her with starter fluid?
post back some info.

Re: ford 2600-
well.. you are all over the place.
first you say it has good spark. but you repalced the plugs, and wonder if it's the distribuitor.
you said it had good spark. does it have good spark at all 3 plugs or doesn't it? If it has good spark at all 3 plugs.. then FORGET about the ignition for the moment.
now.. you said it did nothing on start fluid.
that's odd.. it should at least pop, and really, start and begin to run on start fluid alone..
so something is not adding up.
is the air cleaner/tube blocked off or froze up with water? mouse nest?
does it pop on start fluid?
have you checked to see if the carb is getting fuel? i know the 2000/3000 use a fuel line runnign to the front for the fuel pump.. then back to the holley carb.
check fuel flow thru tank strainer and to carb.
is it the oe holley carb?

Re: ford 2600-
oe holly carb, does not pop on start fluid,no mouse nest not froze up with water-is getting gas-completely baffled.

Re: ford 2600-
well.. herein lies the paradox.
you said it has good spark. yet you said it is not popping on start fluid.
those 2 both can't be true.
start fluid will ignite if these is spark at the plug, even if the valves are stuck open a bit. it will burn. if ALL intakes were CLOSED and cam was broke.. then you might have a working theory.
do a thumb test on each hole and see if there is ANY compression / vacume while rolling over.

Re: ford 2600-
mystery solved- went down today hit the key and it started right up- what was different- temperature dropped 40 degrees to 26, rain quit and it is snowing- only explanation I have is that distributer got wet from all the moisture in barn and would not fire-anyone else have a theory?

Re: ford 2600-
It takes fuel, air, and heat (spark or compression). You said it had all three, so we're just as stumped as you are Hornstein.

Re: ford 2600-
it started first thing today- temperature dropped 40 degrees to 26 and rain changed to snow- from before- have concluded distributor got wet from all the moisture in the barn and now that has subsided it runs fine.
