Can anybody tell me which cylinder is #1 ? Radiator or seat end ?
Also how many revolutions of the flywheel after after you have piston #1 up a tdc on compression is it till piston #4 come up to tdc on compression? I need to adjust the valves. TIA

#1 cyl. is nearest the radiator. Being the firing order is 1-3-4-2, and it fires a cylinder everytime it hits TDC, 2 revolutions should put you at TDC compression for #4.
I don't have a Cub, but all of my C-113's and C-123's are checked hot when running at a slow idle, other than if they have just been OH'd, then adjusted cold, by turning the engine until the particular cylinder valves are at rest. Being your adjusters are on the side, that could get a bit messy adjusting when running...
