Tractor
2009 Kubota RTV 900, 2009 Kubota B26 TLB & 2010 model LS P7010
I was wondering how many folks are color blind and own more than one brand of tractor and how do they like them. Any all around favorite from your stable?
I have LS P7010C, Kubota B26and John Deere 332 garden tractor. My brother in law has John Deere 750 and New Holland T2310. I cant find any one thing that makes one brand better than the other. Mine are all totally different so uses are different so my favorite depends on what chore I am doing, but if I had to keep only one it would be the B26 for the backhoe and it being very easy to maneuver. I like the LS when moving heavy loads of dirt and when like last week, dragging over a big 3' diameter oak tree that had blown over and held in the air about 15 feet by some large limbs. No way the B26 would do that chore. The one thing that I dislike on any tractor is fixed width of wheels. Some like my B26 have a fixed width and not adjustable without expensive spacers and then only by a few inches and not sure that would even be allowed due to the back hoe weight. Wheel spacing is not much of an issue till you start trying to use cultivators or disc hippers to make rows for gardens etc. and then the CUT's are normally too narrow to straddle 2 rows and too wide for just one.

My off-road fleet consists of a green Montana 2740 for most of the smaller stuff, a yellow IH 3414 for the heavier wheel tractor things, a red IH TD-14 dozer for clearing and rough stuff, a yellow and green Yanmar B27-2B excavator for cleanup, digging stumps and burying my mistakes, and a green Craftsman 22hp garden tractor and a red Crafsman 21hp to take care of the yard.....Dan.

I started with the Ford 3000 selectospeed it's my favorite for rough cut mowing ,loader speed(17+ gallon per min. vane pump), The 554 Rhino more powerful, dual remotes Quasi quick attach/grapple, suspension seat and 4x4 for loader digging. Mowers 2 hydrostatatics the Co-Op(MTD) flat out kicks the Honda's u know what ,it's much smoother doesn't jerk back and forth, rear discharge ,smoother riding and parts aren't outragous the good old Gilson belt drive, even cutting

Mercedes MB1300 FEL $ Blade 130hp

White 4-225 230hp
Allis 7580 4WD 220hp

Kubota B7100HST FEL/BH 18hp
Case 4890 300hp
Case STX535 535hp
Case STX530AC 530hp

Hard to pick a "favourite", though I'll settle for all above 150hp that have done 10,000hrs or more without incidental breakdowns/cost.
So my favourites by hp range:
less the 50hp = Iseki TX2160
50-110hp = the Daedong DK1002 (we'll be buying more ) or the Fiat780DT
110 -180hp = any/all the White's
180 - 250hp = the old Allis 7580 or Deutz DX230FWA or for a 2WD the JD6030
250hp &up = the Acremasters hands down
If I could only have 1xTractor it'd be close between the Mercedes MBTrac1300 4x4, the Fiat780DT or in hill country the Austrak
And my least favourite brand = A toss of the coin betwwen New Holland & Case (try finding a mechanic who is capable on recent models..), least favourite tractor is my JD8440.. (too costly to buy/run & maintain from new)
