used tractor in oct. to plant green field and replaced woods belly mower after and everything worked fine. started up again in march and lift lever would not budge,I screwed lift speed knob in and out and it would raise half way ,but much harder to move lever. I cut about a half acre and checked fluid level again and it looked like it had sucked air into fluid. I let it sit a week and checked fluid again and it looked clear again.

Thanks hunterridgefarm, thats what I was hopeing. I bought a new filter and I will change hydraulic fluid and filter this weekend. I bought this tractor used in 1996 and have used it to cut 7 or 8 acres every weekend during grass growing season with no problems. I put woods belly mower back on this year right after planting foodplot and left 3pt hitch up a little and I think that caused the problem.I usually leave off any equipment and hitch lowered all the way down.
