Hi, I have an old T 1600H .There is plenty of life in the engine but the hydrostatic drive has slowed almost to a stop. The machine has been looked after and I need some suggestions on how to carry out a day repair to the sysytem. Thanks

Well it could be any of several things. Possibly a plugged filter or a bad pump or hydraulic motor. What oil is in the unit? Check the drive shaft to make sure you haven't sheared something off and it's slipping.

You might want to take the filter off and cut it open to see if there is any metal or other bad stuff in it.

Do you know if it has an all in one transaxle (pump and motor all in one assembly)? If it is a transaxle they can be more difficult and expensive to repair.

Check out the drive belt and tensioner first.
