Occasionally, I'll go after a deadfall.

But usually, I get an 8 cord load of tree length delivered

Then I browbeat my daughter and grandkids into helping me split it.

And my Brother-in-Law and I stack a year's supply undercover.

But I try to stay a year ahead so as to have plenty of seasoned wood.

And I'm enjoying it right now!

I don't cut firewood, but just saw this video on facebook (no you don't need an account there). It does require flash player in your browser though.

This looks like the slickest setup I can imagine.

PH Paul I LOVE your tractor. Anything with articulation and BIG equal sized tires turns me on. I saw the JD literature when they went on that tangent, but never thought it would look so Horny in REAL life!

That tire size beats a Steiner all to hel!

The ONLY thing that matters in Rubber Tired Equipment is:

TIRE SIZE, TIRE SIZE, TIRE SIZE!

Thanks! It doesn't have a lot of ground clearance, but with the articulation you just run a wheel over anything you can't straddle.

With the 9 speed and the locking front differential, it's a beast. That little 20 HP one-lunger diesel just keeps donking away.
