What is the best technique to cut the last row ( when it is narrower than the normal row) with a right side discharge mower deck.? :cool2:

(1) favor the left side of the deck
(2) center up on it
(3) favor the right side of the deck

I didn't know mowing was so technical. Me? Right down the middle.

Ha,ha - - my God, you got that right, McKelly. I favor the right side of the deck because if I go center or left it will put the deck out in the pucker grass. And we all know what's out there - big rocks, discarded what-evers, sprinklers that were not properly stored last fall - things that will rattle around under the deck before being discharged.

If there's no risk of hitting anything like mentioned above, then the center is the best choice. It gets you at least two blades to work on reducing the clippings in size before they exit the deck, and less of, or no tires to flatten the uncut grass down before entering the cutting chamber.

If you like using your mower, you should cut it crossways.

More seat time.

Cut the last row first, then you'll be done and have saved a lot of time.
