Massey Ferguson 254 John Deere 990-4700-5310-new holland tn65-kubota l3300-l4200Ferguson to 30,1951-to30,1954, ford 2n 1947, ford 2n 1943 jd 5200, jd 301a, alllis chalmers 45c, John Deere 5200
I just got a used JD 4700 with 16.9x20 and 10- 15
, rim front tires, both sets turf tires.
I want to replace them with either R4 pr R 1 tires., probably
16.9x 24 R 1 on the back and 10- 16.5 rim, or 16" rim or 15" rim on the front.
am i restricted on the diameter of the tires and rims on this 4 wheel drive tractor? Because of the 4 wheel drive ratio?

You really want to keep the circumference ratio (between front and rear) close (<5%) to factory to prevent excessive wear on the front axle. This is more important if you run on hard pavement (of course, you shouldn't be using front wheel assist on hard pavement!).

The 4700 shared rims with the 4500 and 4600 as well as the 4x10 series successors. It shouldn't be too difficult in finding replacement rims.
