Finally ordered a hydraulic pressure gauge so I can check relief pressure on my Massey while performing General maintenance on her over the winter....

Does anyone know where the point of adjustment is for the system relief on my 1648?

Are the rear remotes an acceptable place for my reading, or do I need to use the loader circuits?

Is there any need, or place, to check and adjust the HST system pressure?

Thanks in advance.

Here's what my loader valve looks like ... Thoughts on how to adjust the relief pressure?

The rear remotes should be fine for checking relief pressure.

Go to AGCO Parts Books and look up the parts diagram for your 1648. I looked briefly and it appears the relief valve is in what they call the Independent Valve on the right rear side of the transmission housing.

It depends where the pump flow goes first.

If the flow goes to the loader first, then use the loader QD/hyd gage and plug in to a matching QD and bump FEL lever momentary. Your manual should tell you where the relief is.

Both relief should be set the same.

Do you know tractor specs for the relief pressure.

You can plug the gage into a remote Outlet, but you will not know which relief is providing the relief.
