They treated me like everybody here wants to be treated by their dealer, and remember I didn't even buy the tractor there.

Any idea why the dealer happened to have a used hydro available? Seems unusual unless he rebuilds failed hydros during the winter to be available for customers like you who need one immediately during the peak season.

That's what I was wondering about as well. I wouldn't expect that to be an easy part to source used, but there may be a reason for it if that model has a history of failing.

Did I tell you that while they were working on the hydro they unilaterally decided that my tractor body was ratty looking after 8 years of hard use, so they replaced it with an almost new one they had because they had replaced one under warranty cause it had a tiny bit of paint peeling? No charge.

So I'll keep the radiators clean from now on and will report back when I hear from Jordan.

As far as I can tell these tractors very much do not have a bad history with hydro stats.
Jordan had recently taken in a low mileage TYM 273 in trade that had somehow been burnt.
They took it apart and put the parts on shelves. I did know this before I chose them to work on mine.

Thank you for your input but could you be more specific about what over loaded means?

I ask in all honesty because others have suggested that it may have been overheating and I can see that through ignorance or laziness (you pick) I could have contributed to that.

What sort of things would constitute over loading? Would they all imply over heating?

It's important because if heat is the enemy here, I can fix that with better habits plus a trans temp guage,
But if I'm just asking the poor thing to do too much, then I have the wrong tractor size

or the wrong tool entirely, and I have no reasonable fix for that.

Ok, Jordan doesn't want to rebuild it and they say that TYM won't sell internal hydro parts. But they did say that they would try to do a postmortem on it soon.

If not, I'll gladly send it to you. I am seriously grateful for all the help I got here 8 years ago and again now and I would love to help pay back.

Heck, if you like, my wife and I could maybe schedule a road trip and drop it off and maybe help (or more likely watch) you work on it. We're retired and love driving.
