john deere 160 mowing deck won't engage.

hello I was mowing on my John Deere 160 yesterday I got off go get a drink of water got back on started up and when I flip the switch engages the mowing deck nothing happened flip the switch a couple times still nothing. not sure what is wrong can anyone help.

Electric PTO clutch is fried. Check with resistance meter and check voltage at connector. With engine off, you should be able to hear the clutch snap. Same way mine failed. ebay: new or used.

or the switch failed. they are known for crapping out

It could be the clutch is going bad, or it could be the switch. I've even seen that happen when the battery is too weak to actuate the clutch.

I concur, found mine to be the pto clutch. Very obviously fried upon visual inspection. Just ordered a new aftermarket unit off eBay for my 120

Or fuse...but fuses blow for a reason.
