What's the best way to clean the mold off of vinyl seat that won't damage it? And is there something you can coat it with to help prevent it from coming back? I know about the armour all (silicones) but don't want to slide off my seat on steep hillside. :)

I have a couple pair of 60's-70's vinyl bucket seats stored in my basement. I had not checked them in a few years and when I did I found they had some surface mold. I cleaned them off with Simple Green. Whatever product you choose make sure to wear gloves and a mask so you don't inhale anything. After cleaning and drying I applied a general vinyl / leather paste cleaner / rejuvenator and buffed with a microfiber towel. Then applied several coats of original Armor All. If you don't want to slide around skip the Armor All.
The mold I had was only surface mold. If your mold has gone through or got under the vinyl into the foam you'll need to replace the foam. Unless you have cracks or tears, most times its only surface mold.
