Kubota B-2650
Recently purchased a Kubota B2650. Being that I have a carry-all attached
to the 3ph, I am forced to keep the rops in the horizontal position-something
I am not accustomed to.

On my B7800 I am able to run all 3ph attachments with the rops fully lowered
and had my tool box mounted on the rops-very handy to have.

On the B2650 the upper link will collide with the lowered rops-not good.
Plus I miss my tool box full of everday stuff, lunch included.

The grounds that I operate on are level and paved dirt roads. So off
came the rops after banging my head on it, one too many times. Not
sure if you have walked into a rops, but it really hurts.

The solution was to remove the rops and fabricate a replacement out
of PT lumber, at 4" higher off the ground than the original.

And, install a tool box onto the new replacement rops. It's now curing and will
be painted in the future and should blend right in. No more headaches!!

Also drilled 2 holes in the bottom of the toolbox and inserted a hd zip tie (covered
in heat shrink tubing) to form a loop. When the upper link is disconnected, I insert
the end of the link into the loop and it makes a great hanger.

Problems solved.

I'm confused. While I'm not familiar with the B2650, I'm surprised that having a carry-all attached to the 3ph forces you to keep the ROPS in the horizontal position.

Do you mean, as opposed to being folded completely? Or can you not have the ROPS in the correct intended position?

If the rops is folded completely on this model, the upper link collides with the folded rops.

To be safe, one needs to put the rops either the full upright position, or at half folded-
horizontal position to avoid damage to the machine.

Hope this helps.

There's already a hook provided to hold the Top Link (Upper Link) - It's visible in 3 pics, to the right above the RH lift arm. Does that not work for you?

It does, but this is faster and easier to use. And I'm not going to worry about the link falling out.

Seems like a waste of a lot of lumber just to mount a tool box. Wood for an ROPS is useless for rollover protection. A tool box can easily be mounted to the ROPS on the fender side.IMG_1129.JPG

What's the point of the wooden replacement?

What's the point of the wooden replacement?

I believe it is to align this new tractor with his older tractor whereby he likes to have a toolbox/lunch/box conveniently mounted behind his seat.

All is explained in Post #1.

Just why one would dispense with the Steel ROPS is none of my business. :scratchchin:

Better off without it, false sense of protection and is dangerous. Could the original be modified to a 90 degree angle toward the rear?
