Can you put up a small cabin- one or two rooms - modular and then a pole barn for the tractor and implements? Or build a small living area into your pole barn to satisfy the town?
I don't keep large attachments in it, like a rotary cutter or a box blade because the space is so confined it would be a pain to hook up. I usually drive in with my backhoe attached. Otherwise I keep a generator, tools and other odds and ends. I have not added a pedestrian door or windows because I wanted it to be as secure as possible.
I new a guy, and he dabbled in about everything I think. Anyway, he had a few trucks and fiddle in the trucking business. He also fiddled with these containers. Where he got them I don't know, but he'd sell.them for say 3000-4000 dollars a piece.
Craigslist is a good place to find them but they don't last long, you have to be watching for them everyday. Freight companies will move them for you. If you are buying or selling be sure to have it understood up front whether delivery is included in the sales price.
I paid $600 each for two 20 foot containers, in 2016, at the Richie Brothers auction in Ft. Worth. But I had to go to the port in Lake Charles to pick up. Turned around and sold them for $1200. There are deals to be made, but you gotta hunt for them.
