    Don...... that picture really is a contrast to what it looks like here without the snow. I have forgotten how dark those days were.     I've had the best luck when the soil is slightly moist, you get the deepest penetration from the tines and the plugs eject smoothly. I aerate when there is no rain in the forcast for a few days after so the sun will dry out the plugs. Then mow the grass and the mower blades will pulverize the plugs.

    I have a slightly smaller tow behind unit and it pushes up when crossing over a rock.
