Re: Problem seeing oil level on some dipsticks.
Do you guys keep your oil too darn clean?
Just let it sit in the machine a few months longer between changes and try again, it'll be easier to see.

You never seen the inside of a John Deer 4000 series hydro............all kinds of metal shavings. I know of other guys on the forum talking about the amount of shavings in there 4000 series, they must be able to tolerate a little bit of stuff.

Re: Problem seeing oil level on some dipsticks.
Howdy Charolais,
When I have oil that clean in my engines, I can usually hold the stick up near a lamp (backlighting it) and I can then see the oil. You might have to rock the dipstick a little back and forth.
Try that.
