Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a bolt on soft edge for my loader for snow removal. In the past I have used a blade with a squeeze on it. But with the new tractor I don't have a blade and after using the loader I really like it, but it scratched up my driveway and I just seal coated it. I live in the Dayton ohio area. So if anyone knows where I can get a edge let me know.
Thanks, Doug |

A few TBNers have used plastic for edges for there snowplows. A search on this site turned up this thread. I think they may have bought it from McMaster Carr. I have also heard of people fitting a slit length of PVC on their cutting edges so it will ride smoothly over gravel etc.

We're testing a product from www.fallline.com on the Kubota that Off-road has. I have an edge on a Western plow, a 60" RB and I'm working on fabing one for the bucket. I've used the RB with the fallline product on it three times and it cuts as well as the metal cutter without any damage. A horse mat is not going to work on the front bucket, you have to bolt it on and the mat is just not thick enough. The material I'm using is 1.5" and you can recess the bolts with a big washer and not have any issues. I should have some pictures on what we've dont shortly.

Matt and Phillip Thanks that is exactly what I am looking for. I went and looked at the horse mat your right it would not work ( but thanks for the idea). The poly edge is what is needed. I just want to bolt it to the bottom of the bucket and run it a slight angle.
Thanks again |

I have a similar situation to yours and was also looking for a soft edge for my BX23 loader. I looked at the plastic edges and HDP materials but thought they were kind of expensive. I decided to fashion an edge out of some TREX decking that I had left over from a project. I drilled the edge of my bucked and counter sunk SS bolts into the bottom of the TREX. The decking was bolted under the edge of the bucked and has worked exaxtly a planned. It has completely prevented any marring of my driveway and is holding up nicely.

Here's a site for urethane edges: http://www.fallline.com/snowremoval/snowplowmain.html
A friend of mine says this stuff is what the highway crews put on their plows. Ralph |
